Image Title ‘Strength’ – the positive aspects of photography on rainy days

Image Title: ‘Strength’ – Purchase Strength for your wall

The Story:
the rain poured down on me in Copper Falls State Park, Wisconsin. I was alone, the quiet rain constant .. drenching me and the world around me. the rain saturated the landscape in front of me, making the earthen colors rich and deep in the low contrast light. At the same time the rain penetrated my jacket and hiking gear, chilling me to the bone. … I was thankful for the rain gear I had for my camera and lens .. and I worked through it barely able to see the scene in front of me. .. I manually set my focus based on my old film knowledge of distance. I couldn’t see well enough through the rain gear to do manually focus by sight through the viewfinder.
I ignored the chill I felt in the excitement of the weather that would deter most .. Overcast days like this are wonderful for scenes that are normally too contrasty for my liking. Harsh sun days create specular highlights and shadows that keep images such as this one from showing the glory of its rich earth tones. But I had it on this day and I wasn’t going to waste it because I was cold ….

  1. May I just say what a comfort to discover a person that actually understands what they are discussing over the internet.
You certainly understand how to bring a problem to light and make it
important. More and more people need to look at this and understand this side of
your story. I can’t believe you are not more popular given that
    you certainly have the gift.
