Who I am – Theme Images Photo Credit: Kristen Westlake, except where otherwise noted. I grew up on a farm and even though I live in Beaver Dam now I am a country girl at heart. I am never lonely in the country but when I lived in Chicago, I felt incredibly alone. This is where I grew up. Christmas time, night sky. I do have a silly side. I have never been much of a collector, but I love cowgirl boots. I love animals. My Dad found this statue in Ireland and photographed it because it made him think of me. I love horses. This is Missy and Whinny. Just 3 of our 6 cats. I love animals, especially cats. I love to bake delicious treats to go with morning capaccino I’ve been running and racing since I was 16. One of my first road races. I love trail running. The Kettle Moraine forest have some of my favorite trails. When I travel West I get most excited about exploring trails via a run. I often use running as a scouting expedition for photography. Breast Cancer Survivor – Race I won 3 months after mastectomy surgery I’ve set up my ‘honda hotel’ so that I could camp in the back. Sleeping bag is to the right and all of my ‘neccessities’ are on my left. my bug suit tells the story of mosquitos on this day. Wisconsin can be horrible for the pesky mosquitos and ticks as well! One of the beautiful areas that I’ve hiked – Big Bend National park. I am at the border of Mexico and the USA. Glacier National Park. A nice long hike and look at the rewards! Love to explore. Death Valley from on top of a ridge. This is me out on Lake Michigan, in Michigan. Photographing trumpeter swans in the winter. Winter is one of my favorite times to photograph, I love the solitude. Winter adventures, Ice Caves Apostle Islands. My family has always referred to me as their ‘little free spirit’ … I guess its obvious as to why!
